Today Pinterest made the dreams of hundreds of brand marketers come true with the announcement of new business accounts. From their blog: “We want to help more businesses provide great content on Pinterest and make it easy to pin from their websites. Today, we’re taking a first step toward that goal with some free tools and resources.”
Changes are subtle and won’t be noticeable to Pinterest users. They include:
Updated terms of service: one for business and one for personal
Board, follow, profile and pin it widgets available for integration into third party sites (business and personal)
Ability to name an account after a brand versus the current first/last name format
Additional resources including best practices, guides for Pinterest use and case studies
No information was released on the possibility of generating additional views for pinned content ($$), however we’re pretty confident that news can’t be too far down the road.
